RRPS Aims for Zero Waste
Every day is a recycling day at RRPS! Please consider joining RRPS in its efforts to aim for zero waste in its school cafeterias, classrooms, offices and athletic events.  Zero waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. No trash is sent to landfills and incinerators.  See how one southwestern campus is using “aversion” and “diversion” to reach its goals.  Click here to read about UNM's efforts.

RRPS Seeks Parent Input on Textbook Adoption

Every six years, the state of New Mexico and local school districts review textbooks and other instructional materials in order to adopt updated materials for use in classrooms. This year we will be adopting instructional materials for grades 9-12 English Language Arts, World Languages, and high school reading intervention to support our implementation of the Common Core State Standards. Interested in helping on an Adoption Committee? We'll have monthly meetings November through March. Click here for details.

RRPS Core Subject Standards
The Common Core State Standards are now the basis for instruction in Rio Rancho Public Schools, defining what students should know, understand, and be able to do at each grade level in English language arts and math -- and better preparing them for success beyond high school whether they choose college, the military, or a career. Learn more here about the standards and how they benefit students.

Mission: Rio Rancho Public Schools is dedicated to graduating each student with an educational foundation for success as a responsible, ethical contributor to society.
