Rio Rancho High School Master Dance Company Presents “Strawberry Fields Forever” (A Tribute to the Beatles)
The Rancho High School Master Dance Company will present their final performance of the year ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ (A Tribute to The Beatles) on Friday May 7th and Saturday, May 8th at 7:00 pm in the Rio Rancho High School Performing Arts Center. Master Dance Company has had a very successful year with their past two performances ‘Velocity’ (A high energy choreographer’s showcase), and ‘All That Jazz’, (A Broadway Review).
Students of this performance based class must pass a rigorous audition, and work five days a week, to perfect their technique and performance skills for three featured shows per year. Several Master Dance Alumni have gone on to gain their dance degree, and pursue professional careers as performers, choreographers and teachers. Three of these alumni will perform and choreograph pieces for “Strawberry Fields Forever”.
“Strawberry Fields Forever” features unique choreography and production by Master Dance Director and RRHS Dance Director, Lois Moreno as well as Master Dance Alumni Kaitlyn Aquino who choreographs performs and teaches professionally in New Mexico, Sean Dahlberg, also a Master Dance graduate who holds a dance degree from University of Arizona, and dances and choreographs nationally, Master Dance graduate Kristen Overman, and guest Aminda Bowen.
Moreno’s Master Dance Company aspires to emulate a professional dance company, preparing dancers for the real competitive world of dance outside of high school. Students in the class are taught the foundational skills they need to succeed in the future by teaching them strong performance and choreography technique and setting high expectations for the company.
Tickets for “Strawberry Fields Forever” will be available at the PAC box office prior to each show and will cost $3.00 for students, staff and seniors and $5.00 for the general public. Here is a slideshow of some of the dancers...
Master Dance Company will conclude their season with “Strawberry Fields Forever” on May 7th and 8th, a classic rock tribute to the Beatles.
