What are the Student Eligibility Certification (506) forms used for?
In order to apply annually for the Title VII formula grant, we must determine the number of Indian children enrolled in Rio Rancho. Any child who meets the required definition may be counted for the purpose of receiving this funding. This form will become part of your child’s school record and only needs to be completed once.
What programs are available?
Each school is different; therefore, the format and structure of the program is tailor-designed to meet the school and student needs. Each school has a Native American Contact Person who serves as an academic resource for Native students, and may concentrate efforts with students on academic intervention or enhancing basic skills. Different activities for students such as enrichment, tutoring, homework help, and/or clubs may be available at the school site. In addition, help with finding scholarships for higher education and academic advisory are offered at each high school. Current Indian Education programs operate in-class or out of class, in small or large groups.
What district programs are available?
The district organizes activities to support the unique cultural and educational needs of Indian children.
