Standardized Testing Resources

Welcome to the Standardized Testing Resources and Preparation Center!

Passage of the New Mexico Standards Based Assessment, or NMSBA, is required for graduation by the New Mexico Public Education Department.  At the high school level, it is administered to Sophomores and Juniors each spring. Seniors retakes are offered each Fall.

While there are no guarantees to the format of the test, history shows that tests have mostly multiple choice questions, but may also contain editing tasks, short answer, and open ended questions. The test is not timed, and students can take as long as they need to complete.

The content areas covered are Math, Science, and Reading.
